On October 12, 2018, at the Science and Art Center „Former Mine" in Wałbrzych (Poland), an exhibition of petrified wood was opened, titled „Stories of nature. Fossils of woody plants from the collection of Aleksandra Niemirowska.

The exhibition presented the history of vegetation on the Earth, based on fossils of wood originating from the stems of various plants – mostly with a tree-like look. The oldest of them are 400 million years old (Lower Devonian).

The opening of the exhibition was attended by distinguished guests, including: Prof. Elzbieta Zenkteler, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Prof. Ronny Rößler, Director of the Natural History Museum in Chemnitz, Dr. Slawomir Florjan, Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Prof. Stefan Cwojdzinski, Polish Geological Institute-National Research Institute, Wroclaw, Dr. Marek Stepisiewicz, University of Warsaw.
